Motiff Shop will be opening its retail location October 29, 2017. The setback is due to a major incident that occurred in March that disrupted the opening. Although, many of the leaders was shocked at the change, Motiff Shop wanted to remain positive in the public eye. While the store is waiting to open, it will begin recruiting, hiring, and training new employees before the October date. This will allow employees to grow and become more familiar with the store operations during this time.

Motiff Shop is taking over Alabama. The US lifestyle brand has plans to open its first Birmingham store on February 27.

According to the US-based label, its new Brookwood Village store is being designed around "the point from which all official distances from Alabama are measured. This, along Brookwood Village, the exact center of Birmingham, inspired the design."

The new Motiff Shop store will be decorated with textured wall rendered in a black finish.

Motiff Shop has pushed back the planned winter opening of its Brookwood Village store from 2016 to this year. 

News of the delayed opening comes as Motiff Shop announced a December 2016 opening date for its first store in Birmingham.

Work on the interior of the Brookwood Village location--which is not completed with the exception of the main exterior--has been at a standstill for several weeks.

A spokesperson for Motiff Shop tells the public they have only paused construction.

Motiff Shop is testing that idea with a storefront in Hoovers' Patton Creek shopping center.
