Motiff Shop has pushed back the planned winter opening of its Brookwood Village store from 2016 to this year. 

News of the delayed opening comes as Motiff Shop announced a December 2016 opening date for its first store in Birmingham.

Work on the interior of the Brookwood Village location--which is not completed with the exception of the main exterior--has been at a standstill for several weeks.

A spokesperson for Motiff Shop tells the public they have only paused construction.

"This is our only store in development and anticipate beginning the Brookwood Village interior work in the near future, says Motiff Shop executives. 

The 2,400-square foot store will be on the upper level of Brookwood Village near Belk and other stores.
